The Basics - City Buildings

Buildings

Within every Governors City in the Rise of Kingdoms game there are a set amount of buildings. They may look slightly different depending on which culture the players choose. However, their name, and functionality are identical throughout the game. Below is a full RoK description of each building, and also a FRL Gaming description of how important each building is, along with any other information that you may need to know.

*The Buildings below may not appear the same as the buildings in your City. This is due to selection of a alternate culture. All functionality of the buildings are the same.

RoK Description

Your city hall is the key to your city and the heart of your civilization. It is both a majestic landmark and an important functional institution that oversees building construction, resource gathering, technological research, troop development, and all other areas.

FRL Info

All other buildings within your city depend on the City Hall (CH). No building can be upgraded past the level of the City Hall. Therefore, it is essential to be always working toward leveling it up. There are 25 total levels to upgrade, each getting more expensive in resources. Even your technology and military strength revolve around your City Hall.

At level 16 CH you will unlock Tier 3 troops, at level 21 CH Tier 4 troops, and at level 25 CH Tier 5 troops.

Academy
RoK Description

An academy is an institution of higher education, research, or honorary membership. The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, north of Athens, Greece.

FRL Info

Due to its role in your City the Academy is the second most important building. The Academy is where players will conduct all of the necessary research to grow and gain power. The Rise of Kingdoms Research consists of both military research, and economy research. The ability to research certain subjects depends on resources, the level of the Academy, and also the level of City Hall. We suggest that players constantly have research going in the Academy because of its effect on all other aspects within your City, and due to its importance to your overall power.

Tavern

No one is born a hero-a pure and noble heart determines whether a person will overcome his or her greatest obstacles. In the tavern is where you can find all sorts of people, including, perhaps, the commander who is fated to help you write history. Get ready to meet your destiny.

The tavern is where you will use your silver and gold keys to open chests. Gold keys are harder to get but give better rewards.

In your daily tasks you can earn one of each key per day, and keys are essential for growth of your commanders.

Within the chests there are new commanders, also duplicates of commanders you already have which will give you statues to improve your current commanders. There are also resources, speedups, and other items that will help your growth.

Early barracks such as those of the Roman Praetorian Guard were built to maintain the elite forces. From historical sources we can see that the basics of life in a military camp have remained relatively constant for thousands of years.

This is where you will train your infantry units. The higher the level of your barracks will determine how many troops you train and once.

In Rise of Kingdoms players can either train new troops or they can upgrade their current troops to higher levels, depending on the tier of troop that they have unlocked with research in the Academy.

Hospital

The earliest documented institutions aiming to provide cures were ancient Egyptian temples. In ancient Greece, temples dedicated to the healer -god Asclepius, known as asclepieia, functioned as centers of medical advice, prognosis, and healing.

This is where all of your injured troops will go to be healed. Try to keep your hospitals level as high as possible. Any time your City is attacked by an opposing players your injured units will fill up your hospitals and they can be healed and returned to your forces. However, if there are more injured units than there are hospital beds than you will lose the troops that can not be placed within a hospital.

When your troops are in the hospital try to heal them as soon as you can to always keep plenty of room.

Castle

Castles originated in the 9th century, after the fall of the Carolingian Empire resulted in its territory being divided among individual lords and princes. Castles were built by these nobles to control the area immediately surrounding them, and served as both offensive and defensive structures.

Your castle is used for a tool to connect you with your alliance when there is war afoot. A symbol will appear above it when there is alliance war activity for forming rallies. The higher level your castle, the larger number of reinforcements you will be able to hold when you start a rally. In order to upgrade this you will need books of covenant, which you can get through chests and attacking barbarian forts.

Trading posts have existed for as long as humans have engaged in trade. Some of them operate daily while others are held on less frequent specified days, but all of them play an irreplaceable role in people's daily lives.
